Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is not the same as traditional grant funding. It does require work to set up and successfully run a campaign, but the sense of achievement you get once a campaign is successfully delivered creates ‘added value’ beyond what’s achieved from a competitive grant application.

There are also many additional benefits of running a campaign, as well as what you achieve financially.

Sport England currently have one crowdfunding option available, Active Together.

Active Together is a £7.5 million fund set up to help clubs and organisations deal with the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, as well the energy, cost-of-living and other local crises – such as flooding.

Why consider crowdfunding?

  • It can help bringing together your entire club/organisation to work on your project.

  • You can receive tailored support from Sport England and Crowdfunder.

  • Increase awareness of the work of your club in the wider community.

  • Create new relationships with local businesses and other external parties.

  • Uncover the skill sets of existing club members and develop new ones.
